It's 3:30 pm and you're feeling a bit peckish. Totally normal! If you ate lunch at noon, your blood sugar is likely dropping later in the afternoon; and dinner isn't for a few more hours. To maximize your afternoon snack without overdoing it, pair a carbohydrate with a protein or a fat! These ten snacks contain 15-30 grams of carbohydrate each (about 1-2 carb servings) and are paired with a protein or fat, which will help you feel satisfied and balance your blood sugar until dinnertime. Plus, healthy whole foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein are giving our body beneficial vitamins, minerals, and fiber. So you can snack guilt-free!
